Job Title:Assistant/Associate Professor Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Job Description:he Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Jacksonville University seeks a faculty member with a record of and potential for strength in research, leadership, and teaching. This position will contribute to the program, college, and university’s commitment to maintain excellence at the national level. The individual selected will serve a 12-month, tenure-accruing, full-time faculty appointment beginning January 2019. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Program: The JU Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program offers a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS-CMHC) with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling in the School of Applied Health Sciences, Brooks Rehabilitation College of Health Care Sciences. The program started in 2015, is SACS approved, and is in the process of seeking accreditation by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). It is a two-year (60-credit hour), full-time cohort model hybrid program.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and/or Marriage and Family Therapy, from a CACREP-accredited program conferred no later than December 2018. Licensed or licensure eligible as a mental health counselor and/or marriage and family therapist in the state of Florida. Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health and/or Marriage and Family counseling. A commitment to teaching, research, service and program development and to working in culturally diverse environment with an understanding of the mission of Jacksonville University.

Preferred qualifications include clinical expertise in the following specialty areas: marriage, couples, and family counseling and group counseling. Preference will be given to applicants with documented scholarship, prior experience as a practicing counselor or marriage and family therapist, and teaching experience, preferably at the University level.
